This is a project dedicated to boosting civic engagement.
Increasing voter participation through a get out the vote charity drive.
Local Votes, Local Charities
Boost Woodinville turn-out and boost Woodinville charities.
Like a walk-a-thon, sponsors pledge contributions to the charity. When the goal is reached the sponsors commit to make donations.
The goal is simply a percentage of voter participation. Just the count of returned ballots, nothing else matters.
When the King County Elections reports the percentage of ballots returned in City of Woodinville are above the goal sponsors will make donations directly to the charities.
Both democracy and the community win.
Reach 55% - We Did It Last Year
Our participation goal the 2025 elections is 55%.
That sounds big - it is not. Woodinville exceeds it regularly (see graph).
While there are elections every year, many people forget the odd numbered years (2021, 2023, and 2025). A lack of national races let people believe these off-years are less important, they are not.
Odd-year elections are local elections.
These ballots define the future of Woodinville.
Initiative Specifics
No money is collected or handled by this initiative. All donations are transactions between individual sponsors and charities.
No party, issue or candidate is supported. Only the percentage of registered voters returning a valid ballot matters.
The final King County Elections printable results PDF published after election certifications will be used (see picture from 2023).
Two elections are happening in Woodinville this year (2025):
- Primary election on August 5th
- General election on November 4th
Final certifications from King County Elections are on: August 19th and November 25th respectively.
